A small workshop — a place where things get built because building is the point of the thing.

The name is just two quiet things — water, and the kind of mint that grows by the edges of streams without anyone planting it. Neither asks for attention. Both turn out to matter more than you’d think, in the small daily way of things.

Most days the work is whatever’s in front of us — fixing the thing that broke yesterday, trying the small idea that came up over tea, tending the rough edges that keep turning up. Honest work matters more here than impressive work, and hands tend to be trusted more than plans.

Things don’t move especially fast, and there’s no promise they will. What gets made finds its way to people who want it — that’s how the lights stay on. The hope is that what gets made turns out to be something we’d want in our own days, and quietly useful to someone else who finds it.

That’s really most of it.
